Nearly two dozen suspects tied to white supremacist gangs in Utah were arrested for allegedly peddling methamphetamine and other drugs in the state, federal prosecutors announced Friday.
The group — 21 documented gang members and their associates — are accused of dealing throughout Salt Lake City and the nearby city of Ogden, Utah’s US Attorney’s office said in a release.
The gang members arrested were connected to either the Soldiers of Aryan Culture, Silent Aryan Warriors or Noble Elect Thugs, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said many of those arrested have for years been engaging in criminal activity across Utah.
Federal and local authorities started investigating the alleged syndicate in June 2019.
During the probe, investigators purchased 1.65 pounds of meth and recovered 15 guns, officials said.
The suspects are facing weapons possession and drug charges.
