The villain of the FAFSA debacle is finally leaving


Amid a deluge of leftist policymaking, the Biden administration provided a shred of good news Friday when the Department of Education announced that Richard Cordray, the COO of the Office of Federal Student Aid, will soon leave his post.

The announcement is a welcome development as Cordray has overseen one of the worst policy debacles of the Biden administration in the rollout of the new version of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

When Cordray took over FSA in May 2021, he had more than two years to ensure that the launch of the new FAFSA application was successful and served the goal of making this onerous and cumbersome application simpler for colleges, students, and families alike.
