Sen. Cassidy shares photo of man ‘wanted for questioning’ in Capitol cop’s death


This man is “wanted for questioning” regarding the death of US Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick during the Jan. 6 riot, according to US Sen. Bill Cassidy.

The Louisiana Republican tweeted the photo on Tuesday, asking that anyone who recognizes the man immediately contact the FBI.

“U.S. Capitol Police just shared this picture with me,” wrote Cassidy. “This man is wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of fallen Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick.”

Sicknick, 42, was pepper-sprayed and fatally bludgeoned with a fire extinguisher during the chaos on Capitol Hill, when supporters of President Trump stormed the seat of American democracy in an attempt to prevent certification of Joe Biden’s presidential election win.

If authorities have already identified the man — who has gray facial hair, and wore a dark, plaid-patterned jacket and a dark blue hat bearing the white letters “CFD” — Cassidy’s post did not include his name.
