Presidential historian Douglas Brinkley said Thursday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that Justice Samuel Alito’s comments about SEAL Team 6 were “mocking our military” during the Supreme Court oral arguments on former President Donald Trump’s claim that he is immune from prosecution.
Alito said, “One might argue that it isn’t plausibly legal to order SEAL Team 6, and I don’t want to slander SEAL Team 6 because they’re, no, seriously they’re honorable, they’re honorable officers and they are bound by the Uniform Code of Military Justice not to obey unlawful orders.
