Zohran Mamdani announces $50 World Cup tickets for New Yorkers

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced a lottery for $50 World Cup tickets to 1,000 New Yorkers on X Thursday.

“What can $50 get you in New York City?” the mayor asked in the video.

“Twenty-five cups of street cart coffee. Ten months of hard-hitting journalism,” Mamdani wrote. “Infinite rides on the Staten Island Ferry. And for 1,000 lucky New Yorkers? A ticket to the World Cup.”

Mamdani joked that a front page of the New York Post announcing his mayoral win in November is “still a classic.”
