X offices raided in Paris as part of Grok investigation

Investigators from the Paris prosecutor’s cybercrime unit, with the support of the European Union’s police agency Europol, executed the search as part of an inquiry into possible “complicity” in possessing and spreading child sex abuse material and other unlawful content on the platform.

The Paris prosecutor’s office said in an X post that the raid was a continuation of an investigation launched in January 2025. The office said it would be deactivating its X account and that information will now be distributed through Instagram and LinkedIn.

The investigation first focused on algorithmic manipulation and data handling, and has since expanded to include allegations related to sexually explicit deep fakes, Holocaust denial content, and manipulation of automated systems.
