Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell is set to deliver the central bank’s decision on interest rates in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon following a two-day policy meeting.
The embattled chairman faced the ire of President Donald Trump last year for refusing to lower national interest rates.

The press conference marks Powell’s first public event since he announced that Trump’s Department of Justice launched an investigation into his handling of the expensive Fed renovations. Trump has repeatedly threatened to sue and replace Powell as chairman over the matter.
Powell is scheduled to deliver the anticipated announcement at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
