The Commanders posted a video on X on Friday that shows a 360-degree rotation of the new helmet design, with an arrow striking through the Commanders’ “W.”
The team announced the new design for the 2026 season on X on Wednesday, with the caption, “Assembly complete.” The video nodded to past Commanders branding. At the end of the video, a player is seen holding a spear, as well as in another video posted on X.

The Commanders’ newsroom posted an explainer on the uniform changes. It says the spear element was first introduced in the 1960s.
The article said the spear is “a potent weapon for a fighter, but its sharpest point – the spearhead or “tip of the spear” – symbolizes the top fighters, those who are unafraid to lead a mission. That energy defines a Commander.”
