The results are in — and Virginia voters have just given Democrats the go-ahead to draw new, heavily-gerrymandered districts ahead of midterms.
The complicated ballot measure was billed to voters as a means to “restore fairness” in elections. Specifically, it would allow a Democrat-led General Assembly to redraw the state’s Congressional map only one time — before this year’s midterms — then revert back to an independent commission.
Yes, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds.
As you might have guessed, the new Congressional map is expected to give Democrats a gigantic boost.

Of the eleven seats in Virginia, ten are predicted to go to Democrats under the new map. Republicans would be left with only one seat.
