Vice President JD Vance attempted to clear up public confusion about three different Iran war peace proposals circulating in the media and online.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Vance sought to clarify what proposed peace plan the United States had accepted as a good starting point for negotiations, thereby triggering the two-week ceasefire on Tuesday. He echoed the sentiment of President Donald Trump and other Trump administration officials in criticizing reporting on the matter, explaining that three peace proposals were being referenced.

“The first 10-point proposal was something that was submitted, and we think, frankly, was probably written by ChatGPT,” Vance said, adding that it “immediately went to garbage and was rejected.”
