Utah justice leader describes chaos during pro-Trump riots in DC


A social justice leader from Utah was seen in Washington, DC, Wednesday to document the historic moment when thousands of pro-Trump protestors stormed the US Capitol.

John Sullivan, who founded Insurgence USA, a group that stands against police brutality, told KUTV he was on the frontlines when rioters broke into Capitol Hill and attacked police.

“He started slamming the riot shield against the cop, took that, threw it down the steps, and threw the officer down the steps as well,” he said of one protester.

“Protesters weren’t really, like, trying to burn anything down, they weren’t really trying to break anything, their main motive was to make it into the chambers,” Sullivan added.

Sullivan also recalled the moment he saw Air Force veteran and Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt got shot inside Capitol Hill.

“I remember looking into her eyes and seeing the lifelessness and understanding that she was dead,” he told KUTV.
