Trump Proposes Five-Year George Washington Exhibition at Smithsonian

President Donald Trump is calling on the Smithsonian to honor George Washington with new exhibits and statues, including an 11-foot Washington statue in the museum’s Flag Hall and a proposed 30-foot Washington Colossus. In a post, Trump asked the Smithsonian to install the 11-foot statue and dedicate it on Constitution Day, September 17, 2026.

He also proposed replacing the sculpture “Infinity” with the larger Washington statue ahead of Washington’s 300th birthday in 2032.
