Trump has ‘mishandled’ ceasefire agreements: Byron York

Washington Examiner chief political correspondent Byron York said President Donald Trump has botched some of the ceasefire negotiations with Iran

“I have to say, I think he has mishandled some of this in the sense that he’s been so eager to get an agreement that he jumped on the last sort of reported agreement that really wasn’t an agreement,” York said Tuesday on the Hugh Hewitt Show.

“Because you can’t believe a word the Iranians say,” York added.

Trump extended the ceasefire deal Tuesday. 

“Based on the fact that the Government of Iran is seriously fractured … we have been asked to hold our Attack on the Country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal,” he said on Truth Social.

York said the post came across as if the United States is helping Iran regroup.
