Trump hails OAN WH correspondent as ‘one of the best reporters in Washington’

While addressing One America News (OAN) White House Correspondent Daniel Baldwin, President Donald Trump offered high praise, labeling him “one of the best reporters in Washington.”

Speaking at the Oval Office on Monday for a Maternal Healthcare event, President Trump took questions from Baldwin regarding the administration’s Most-Favored-Nation drug policy, which aims to reduce medication prices for American consumers.

“The Council of Economic Advisers released a report saying that the Most-Favored-Nation drug deals would generate about $529 billion in domestic savings over the next 10 years across all markets,” Baldwin said, setting up the premise to his next question. “Do you believe that the Most-Favored-Nation drug deals are the Republicans’ golden ticket to the midterms?” he continued.

“I think the Republicans should walk away with the midterms,” Trump responded.

 

The U.S. Commander-in-Chief then went on to highlight the cyclical nature of American politics, specifically the tendency for midterm elections to swing against the incumbent president’s party.

“Do we have a psychiatrist in the group?” he jested about the phenomenon. “Nobody knows why.”

“I stopped eight wars, got the largest tax cuts in history, the largest regulation cuts in history,” Trump added, speaking on his second term.

 

Baldwin was appointed as OAN’s White House correspondent back in November 2024, shortly after Trump’s second presidential victory.

Since joining the outlet in 2022 as a national political correspondent, Baldwin had become a fixture on the campaign trail, providing extensive coverage of Trump’s 2024 bid by reporting from over 100 rallies and events as a dedicated boots-on-the-ground reporter.
