President Trump announced plans to establish an “AI Force” and appoint a federal AI czar to coordinate the administration’s approach to artificial intelligence. Comparing AI’s potential impact to the Industrial Revolution and the internet, Trump said the initiative would prioritize rapid American innovation, preserve the country’s competitive lead over China and address harmful uses through existing criminal and civil law. He also pledged to challenge what he characterizes as politically driven efforts to impede AI development.
