Can a doctor save a patient who doesn’t want to be saved?
The movie posters for Bob Dylan’s unjustly maligned cinematic masterpiece Masked and Anonymous bear the legend “Would you reach out your hand to save a drowning man if you thought he might pull you in?” And that neatly sums up the problem the West faces today: it could beat back the forces of jihad and stop the advance of Sharia, were it not for all the Europeans and North Americans who think it would be wrong and evil to do so, and would sooner pull down the man who is trying to save them from drowning than take any realistic steps to save itself.
