Tether Gets 15 Bitcoin Mining Heavyweights Behind One Open Automation Layer

Bitcoin mining has never had a shortage of powerful machines. What it has lacked is a common way to make all those machines, pools, cooling systems, and control tools speak the same language.

Tether says it now has 15 major industry participants lined up behind an open-source attempt to fix that problem.

In its October 24 announcement, Tether said 15 mining operators, ASIC manufacturers, and mining pools have committed to build and maintain integrations with its Mining Development Kit, or MDK. The roster stretches across the mining stack: ACME Swisstech, Bitdeer, BITMAIN, Canaan, Elektron Energy, EMCD, F2Pool, Foundry Digital, Heatbit, Luxor Technology, MicroBT, OCEAN, Block’s Proto division, SpiderPool, and Stratum V2.
