Sydney Sweeney Shuts Down Reporter’s Question About Leftists Calling Her ‘MAGA Barbie’

Ever since she dared to appear in an American Eagle marketing campaign that featured a tagline the left claimed was a racist dog whistle, actress Sydney Sweeney has been demonized by millions as a shill for the far-right.

For her part, Sweeney has done what most Americans would prefer entertainers to do: she’s tried her best to stay out of politics and focus on actually entertaining audiences.

But once again, during a recent interview, she was confronted by the ongoing criticism, including one pervasive nickname many of her detractors have thrust upon her.

For Cosmopolitan’s cover issue, Sweeney spoke to the magazine about how people use her as a “pawn” since she will not discuss politics openly,
