
The suspect responsible for holding hostages inside a bank in downtown Bakersfield, California, was shot and killed by the FBI on Wednesday.
The suspect was killed in an officer-involved shooting involving FBI personnel, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The standoff began Tuesday afternoon when a man barricaded himself inside a JPMorgan Chase Bank location in Bakersfield, reportedly with a bomb strapped to his body. It is unclear how many hostages were held inside the bank, but two were released late Tuesday evening.
