Standard Chartered Brings Institutional Bitcoin and Ether Spot Trading to the UAE

Standard Chartered has opened a new door for institutional crypto trading in the Gulf.

Cointelegraph says the bank launched spot Bitcoin and Ether trading for eligible institutional clients in the United Arab Emirates through its branch in the Dubai International Financial Centre. The service gives institutions a regulated bank route to buy and sell the underlying assets for settlement.

The offering is built into Standard Chartered’s institutional channels, so clients can reach crypto markets through familiar trading infrastructure. It also extends a UAE digital-asset operation that began with custody services in September 2024.
