Solana has switched on Transaction V1, a network upgrade that gives developers more than three times as much room inside a single transaction.
The Solana Foundation says the feature activated on mainnet at the start of epoch 1035 on September 15. The maximum transaction size is now 4,096 bytes, up from 1,232 bytes.

That sounds like a narrow engineering change. In practice, it opens the door to operations that previously had to be split into several steps, including zero-knowledge proofs, large multisignature approvals, batched instructions and some confidential transfers.
