Solana’s internal clock just got faster again. The network moved from 300-millisecond target slots to 250 milliseconds at epoch 1037, giving validators four block-production opportunities per second.
The nearly 17% cut sounds like a throughput upgrade, but the network’s capacity did not rise by the same amount. Solana is producing smaller blocks more frequently while keeping its overall wall-clock processing budget roughly steady.
