Ripple has put a date on one of the hardest security transitions facing the crypto industry.
Its target is to make the XRP Ledger fully ready for post-quantum signatures no later than 2028.

Quantum computers cannot break XRP accounts today. Ripple’s own roadmap says an immediate asset breach has not arrived.
It does mean the company believes waiting for a cryptographically relevant machine to arrive would be a serious mistake.
In Ripple’s four-phase roadmap, the first priority is an emergency plan for what the industry calls Q-Day: the point at which a sufficiently powerful quantum computer could defeat the elliptic-curve cryptography used to authorize blockchain transactions. The roadmap also sets a 2028 target for production readiness
