Ripple has spent years building the rails for institutions to move money with digital assets. Its latest move is less flashy than a new token launch, but it may be more important for the companies that actually have to use those rails every day.
The company has launched Ripple Mint, a unified platform that lets qualified institutions access, mint, redeem and manage Ripple USD, or RLUSD. The bigger development is how Ripple is delivering those functions: behind both a human-facing control panel and a programmable API.
