Reactions poured in from Democrats and Republicans after the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner shooting on Saturday night, with both sides condemning the violence.
“Political violence is absolutely unacceptable. I am glad the President and guests at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner are safe,” Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D-NY) posted on X.
Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA) shared that assassination attempts against President Donald Trump need to stop.

During the dinner, many attendees reported hearing a noise that sounded like gunshots. Shortly after, the Secret Service rushed the stage to evacuate the president and other Cabinet members.
