Rand Paul: Minneapolis shooting response ‘flies in the face’ of Second Amendment


Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said Wednesday his visits to protests and rallies run counter to Trump administration officials’ claims on carrying firearms.

The heads of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, and Citizenship and Immigration Services are all set to testify before the House Homeland Security Committee on Feb. 10, and the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Feb. 12.

The testimonies will come about two weeks after the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by Border Patrol agents on Jan. 24.

After the shooting, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem suggested Pretti committed “domestic terrorism,” while FBI Director Kash Patel said a person “cannot bring a firearm” to “any sort of protest that you want.”
