The NFL world received quite a shock Monday morning when the Monday Morning Quarterback’s senior NFL reporter, Albert Breer, revealed that Bills head coach Sean McDermott had been fired.
McDermott, who had patrolled the sidelines for Buffalo for 9 years, lost in the divisional round yet again this weekend after his team failed to overcome four turnovers by quarterback Josh Allen, as well as at least two highly controversial officiating decisions that went against them.
Still, the 98-50 record McDermott posted in Buffalo placed him among the elite coaches in the NFL, and while he has lost several playoff games in recent years (8-8 record overall in the postseason), few could place the blame for the Bills’ loss on Sunday squarely on his shoulders.
