Moskowitz and Gottheimer vow expulsion votes if controversial Texas Democrat wins

Maureen Galindo, a Democratic candidate for Texas‘s 35th Congressional District, will not be welcomed to the House with open arms if she wins her election.

Reps. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), who are both Jewish, vowed to force a vote to expel the Democratic candidate “every single day” the House is in session if she wins the Texas seat.

Galindo, a sex therapist and housing advocate, has made a string of antisemitic comments in recent weeks, including threatening to turn ICE detention facilities into internment camps for “American Zionists and former ICE officers” in a recent Instagram post.

“Maureen’s insane, antisemitic views — including putting Americans in concentration camps — have no place in our Party or country,” Moskowitz and Gottheimer said in a joint statement. 

Galindo is facing former Bexar County public information officer Johnny Garcia in the May 26 runoff election for the Democratic nomination.
