Missouri hotel worker allegedly copied room key, attempted to rape guest


An employee at a Missouri hotel is accused of making a duplicate room key to enter a woman’s room and sexually assault her, charging documents show.

Fletcher Clardy III, 30, was arrested Friday after the woman staying at Hotel Phillips in downtown Kansas City told cops he attacked her on Dec. 17, the Kansas City Star reported Wednesday.

The woman told responding cops she had been sexually assaulted by a man working at the hotel’s front desk and later at its bar. Hours earlier, the woman said she watched the Kansas City Chiefs game with two coworkers and her boss before heading up to their rooms, charging documents state.
