Josh D’Amaro was declared the new CEO of the Walt Disney Corporation after a long period of searching.
D’Amaro, a veteran of the theme park division with 28 years of experience, will take the new position from incumbent CEO Bob Iger on March 18. Despite having little experience in movies and television, the company’s board of directors expressed confidence that D’Amaro’s “rare combination of inspiring leadership and innovation, a keen eye for strategic growth opportunities, and a deep passion for the Disney brand and its people,” made him the natural choice.
