Muslim terrorists unleashed 51 coordinated attacks across southern Thailand Saturday night—22 in Narathiwat, 18 in Yala and 11 in Pattani. The terror spree included bombings, shootings, vehicle thefts, arson and road spikes, injuring at least two people and prompting Malaysia to tighten its border and warn citizens against nonessential travel to Thailand.

Thailand was rocked by at least 51 coordinated bombings and arson attacks across civilian targets Saturday night, with some reports placing the number of attack sites as high as 70. The violence forced the suspension of railway service and reportedly left numerous people wounded, with unconfirmed reports of fatalities. Yet the media continues to describe the perpetrators as a “small-scale Muslim insurgency”
