‘I Don’t Buy It’: Lawmaker Calls Rep. Omar’s Latest Fraud Excuse ‘Revisionist History’

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is facing sharp scrutiny on multiple fronts, including the rampant fraud across her state that new evidence suggests she helped proliferate.

In the wake of allegations that Omar set the stage for fraudsters to take advantage of a program ostensibly meant to feed the hungry, she called claims she had advanced knowledge of the scheme “flat-out false” and insisted that she sent a letter to the US Department of Agriculture upon becoming aware of it.

But one of the state lawmakers tasked with investigating the fraud said her excuse is too convenient and not supported by the evidence.
