Harvard encampment protesters fly Palestinian flag in place reserved for US flag


Masked Harvard University encampment protesters went viral after hoisting the Palestinian flag in a place traditionally reserved for the flag of the United States and those of visiting foreign dignitaries.

Protesters raised at least three Palestinian flags from the University Hall on Saturday and flew them over the institution’s famous John Harvard Statue in Harvard Yard, according to an article published by the Harvard Crimson.

Video of the incident showed students also wrapped a Palestinian scarf around the neck of the statue.

Authorities called on Harvard Yard Operations to remove at least one of the flags around 6:34 p.m., which caused the protesters to scream, “Free, free Palestine” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” the report noted.
