Ethereum’s ‘Bunker Mode’ Warning Comes With One Crucial Message: Don’t Panic

Crypto security warnings tend to produce two bad reactions: dismissal or panic. Ethereum’s latest “bunker mode” debate calls for neither.

Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake is urging the blockchain industry to plan for a future in which artificial intelligence speeds up attacks on the math behind today’s wallet signatures.

Today I call upon the blockchain industry to calmly begin planning for “bunker mode”. My personal recommendation is to set in motion a controlled mass migration of assets to fresh addresses, i.e. addresses whose pubkeys remain hidden behind a hash.
