Two of Ethereum’s best-known researchers are warning that artificial intelligence could become a threat to crypto’s mathematical defenses before quantum computers do.
That does not mean Bitcoin or Ethereum has been cracked. No practical attack on the signature systems protecting today’s wallets has been demonstrated.
