Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz is expected to lead Tuesday’s White House press briefing.

Oz will be the latest member of President Donald Trump’s cabinet to host the briefing after Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent filled in on Friday for White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who is on maternity leave.

The former television personality and Trump administration official is expected to host the news conference at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance also led press briefings in Leavitt’s absence, leading to humorous moments in both instances as they jested about the chaos.

“I told Karoline I would stand in for her today for the White House press briefing on the condition that when Usha has our baby in July, that she would be vice president for a couple of weeks,” Vance joked during his turn at the podium.

The vice president and his wife, Usha Vance, are expecting their fourth child in late July.
