The Department of Justice has filed a federal criminal complaint against Anthony James Kazmierczak, the man accused of spraying Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) with apple cider vinegar at a Minneapolis town hall event.
An FBI special agent filed the complaint and accompanying affidavit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota on Wednesday. Kazmierczak is accused of forcibly assaulting, opposing, impeding, intimidating, and interfering with Omar while she performed her duties as a congresswoman.
The suspect rushed toward Omar while she stood behind the town hall podium on Tuesday night, spraying her with a substance, identified by a hazmat specialist as water and apple cider vinegar, from a syringe.
