The United States military intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles launched at American forces based in Kuwait, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced.
There was no injury to American personnel during the Sunday night attack, CENTCOM said in a Monday morning social media post.
“Last night at 11 p.m. ET, U.S. forces successfully intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles targeting American forces based in Kuwait,” the command stated.

On Sunday, CENTCOM announced it carried out “self-defense” strikes over the weekend targeting key sites in the Islamic Republic, including radar, command and control sites for drones in Goruk and Qeshm Island, which are on or close to the Strait of Hormuz.
The Saturday and Sunday strikes were claimed to be in response to “aggressive Iranian actions,” including Iran shooting down a U.S. MQ-1 drone reportedly operating over international waters.

“U.S. fighter aircraft swiftly responded by eliminating Iranian air defenses, a ground control station, and two one-way attack drones that posed clear threats to ships transiting regional waters,” the command reported.
It again assured that no American service members were harmed during the operations.
Last week, CENTCOM had also reported that Kuwaiti forces intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile launched at the country, which it deemed an “egregious ceasefire violation.” It also said U.S. forces intercepted five Iranian one-way attack drones and prevented the launch of a sixth.
In its most recent update, however, the command gave no indication of an end to the ceasefire, which has held since early April.
“U.S. Central Command remains vigilant and will continue to protect our forces from Iranian aggression while supporting the ongoing ceasefire,” it stated on Monday.
Negotiations continue between the U.S. and Iran to establish a permanent peace deal, a goal President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed is a desire for the Islamic Republic.
“Iran really wants to make a deal, and it will be a good one for the U.S.A. and those that are with us,” Trump posted to Truth Social amidst CENTCOM’s updates.
The president went on to criticize “political hacks,” claiming their negative commentary are making negotiations more difficult.
“But don’t the Dumocrats, and various seemingly unpatriotic Republicans, understand that it is MUCH tougher for me to properly do my job and negotiate, when political hacks keep negatively ‘chirping,’ at levels never seen before, over and over again, that I should move faster, or move slower, or go to war, or not go to war, or whatever,” Trump said.
“Just sit back and relax, it will all work out well in the end,” the commander-in-chief assured.
