An American convoy was reportedly attacked in Nigeria on Tuesday, according to National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby.
Local authorities said the attack left four people dead and three others abducted.
The gunmen reportedly attacked a U.S. diplomatic convoy in southeast Nigeria’s Anambra State.

American and Nigerian officials said no U.S. citizens were in the convoy.
“It does look like a U.S. convoy vehicles was attacked. What I can tell you is that no U.S. citizens were involved. And therefore there were no U.S. citizens hurt,” Kirby reportedly said.
