Bob Harvie wins Pennsylvania’s 1st District primary to set showdown with Brian Fitzpatrick


Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie, backed by the local Democratic Party establishment, defeated his opponent, Lucia Simonelli, in Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District primary election Tuesday.

With roughly 51% of votes counted, Harvie beat Simonelli with about 65% of the vote, according to the Associated Press.

Harvie will face incumbent Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) in November’s general election. Fitzpatrick ran unopposed in the primary.
