Binance Pay Opens USDT Spending Across Japan’s PayPay Merchant Network

Crypto payments just picked up a much bigger real-world footprint in Japan.

Binance says eligible overseas visitors can now use Binance Pay at merchants that accept PayPay, allowing a traveler to spend USDT while the store receives Japanese yen. The connection runs through HIVEX, the payment interoperability network used to connect overseas wallets with Japan’s familiar QR-payment infrastructure.

That matters because it removes one of the biggest headaches in crypto payments: asking a merchant to understand or hold the asset. The customer pays from a crypto balance, but the business keeps operating in the currency it already uses.
