A Swiss State-Owned Bank Put Four Cryptos in Its App. One Partner Holds the Keys

A state-owned Swiss bank has put Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin and Solana inside the same app its customers already use for ordinary banking.

The launch gives BancaStato clients a familiar place to buy, hold and sell four crypto assets.

It does not give the bank control of the entire stack.

BancaStato owns the customer relationship. Avaloq connects the service to the bank’s core system.

Sygnum executes the trades and holds the crypto.

In practical terms, Sygnum is the partner holding the keys.

Sygnum says the service is now available through BancaStato’s existing web and mobile banking channels. Customers do not need to open a separate exchange account or learn a new trading interface.
