
A long-term care pharmacy serving New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia suffered a security incident that potentially compromised the data of thousands of people.
IPPC Inc. and its affiliated entities IPPC of New York LLC and Innovative Pharmacy LLC say that an unknown actor accessed the company’s technical network between September 18th and 19th.
The perpetrator copied and potentially viewed the files during this time.
After completing a review of the files to determine which data relates to whom, IPPC says that the breach exposed a trove of personal and medical data, which include name, Social Security number, medical information and health insurance information.
IPPC began providing notice of the incident on February 27th. On April 1st, the pharmacy started to send out notice letters to individuals who were likely affected by the breach.
