As Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom faces a likely recall election, numerous figures have jumped into the race, including transgender activist and former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner.
One person who recently announced his run for governor comes from a place many would consider unlikely for a politician — YouTube.
Kevin Paffrath, or “Meet Kevin” to anyone who follows his YouTube channel, is a 29-year-old real estate and financial YouTuber with more than 1.6 million subscribers and 128,000 Twitter followers.
On May 1, Paffrath announced via a video on his channel that he was jumping into the governor’s race to challenge Gavin Newsom as a Democrat. In his video, Paffrath outlined a detailed list of policy proposals, which can also be read here.
