A Wisconsin woman allegedly poisoned a family friend with eyedrops, tried to make her death look like a suicide and stole thousands of dollars from her, authorities said.
Jessy Kurczewski, 37, is accused of feeding a friend for whom she was caring a lethal dose of tetrahydrozoline, the main ingredient in eyedrops, to poison the victim in 2018 — and stealing more than $290,000 from her, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported.
The friend, who was not identified, was pronounced dead after Zurczewski called police to her Pewaukee home on Oct. 3, telling cops the victim was no breathing.
Detectives said they believed Zurczewski tried to make her friend’s death look like a suicide — putting her in a recliner and putting a “large amount” of crushed medication on her chest, according to a criminal complaint reviewed by the Sentinel said.
She also told cops her friend had been suicidal recently.
