WATCH LIVE: UN Security Council votes on Biden ceasefire plan

The United Nations Security Council is voting on a resolution for President Joe Biden’s new ceasefire deal, calling on Hamas to accept the three-phase plan.

In comments before the vote, United States Deputy Ambassador Robert Wood called the resolution “the best, most realistic opportunity to bring at least a temporary halt to this war.” Hamas has allegedly said it viewed the proposal “positively.”

The U.S. says Israel has accepted the plan, and the council’s scheduling of the motion for Monday afternoon is likely an indication that the resolution will be adopted unanimously.
