WATCH LIVE: NASA gives update on Artemis II mission

NASA is holding a press conference on Friday afternoon, two days after the launch of the Artemis II mission to the moon.

Artemis II is the first human-crewed test mission of the space program that paves the way for a 2028 surface landing on Earth’s only natural satellite. NASA, led by Administrator Jared Isaacman, intends to make the moon a pit stop for future space voyages.

Four astronauts — three Americans and one Canadian — aboard the Orion spacecraft escaped Earth’s orbit on Thursday and embarked on their four-day journey to the moon. The entire mission is expected to last 10 days.

The press conference, where an update on the lunar-orbiting mission will be provided, is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
