Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sat in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s chair on Friday, presiding over the House of Representatives.
Ocasio-Cortez took on Pelosi’s role as part of a routine rotation of House members, meaning other several Democrats will be allowed to do this going forward.
Needless to say, it did not go well at all.
Ocasio-Cortez stuttered, struggled to remember which states members of Congress represented, and could hardly deliver a coherent sentence at times.
“For what purpose does the gentleman from Ohio – um, from Illinois, excuse me, seek recognition?” she said, struggling to introduce Rep. Sean Casten from Illinois.
She also screwed up a second lawmaker’s state of origin, failing spectacularly when trying to get through a very simple task.
