Warrant describes Denver ‘Patriot Rally’ shooting victim’s last moments

A newly released police report breaks down the moment a US Navy veteran was gunned down by a security guard at a Denver “Patriot Rally.”

The arrest warrant charging guard-for-hire Matthew Dolloff with first-degree murder reveals that shooting victim Lee Keltner, 49, was leaving the right-wing rally at Civic Center Park in the Mile High City around 3:30 p.m. Saturday when he got into an argument with as many as three other men.

One dispute with an unnamed 27-year-old man got so heated that witnesses came “to believe the men may engage in a physical altercation,” prompting a 60-year-old bystander to stand between them, according to the report provided by Denver police Tuesday.
