Virginia Democrat Terry McAuliffe Solicits Campaign Donations on 9/11


Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D), who is running for governor again, sent out several emails on the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks asking supporters to donate to his gubernatorial campaign as he prepares for early voting to begin this week.

McAuliffe, a longtime Clinton ally and prolific Democrat fundraiser, blasted out at least four separate campaign fundraising emails Saturday.

The emails came through periodically throughout the day of remembrance from about noon through 8 p.m. The initial email is below, and three subsequent emails from McAuliffe on Saturday had similar formatting:

Outside of those emails, the Virginia Democrat honored the anniversary by attending a ceremony in Arlington in memory of the Pentagon attack on September 11, 2001, according to photos McAuliffe shared online.
